Faversham Pirate Festival
June 2025: Faversham Pirate Festival leaflet and A-Board poster. This is another design commission from Faversham Town Council, who have organised a second one day festival in Faversham, to be held in mid July, celebrating all things Pirate! Last year’s festival was a big success, I even encountered some people dressed up in pirate costumes the day before the festival – when I said to them the event wasn’t on until the following day, they told me they knew that and wanted to get into the spirit of it early doors (and love dressing up as pirates anyway)!
The leaflet design is a two sided, colour format design that is folded down the middle (final size, DL). The poster design is A1 size, for the council’s A-Board (to be on display to promote the festival).
Again, this was a fun commission to work on, incorporating text, logo, photos and a map. The event has well chosen locations set on Faversham Creek (Town Quay, Standard Quay and Front Brents), with events including music, fancy dress, food and more.
The inspiration for the design is a pirate treasure map, combining old style illustrations, a compass, scroll type panels and a Faversham Pirate Festival logo.
I used Adobe Illustrator for drawing most of the map elements, and Adobe In-Design for laying out the design.
Leaflets will be distributed around the town, at community events and during the event. Faversham has become more popular with visitors of late, this will be a great day for locals and visitors alike.
