Faversham Pirate Festival
June 2024: Faversham Pirate Festival leaflet. This design commission came from Faversham Town Council, who have organised a one day festival in early July to celebrate all things Pirate. The leaflet design is a two sided, colour format design that is folded down the middle (final size, DL).
This was a fun commission to work on, incorporating text, logo, photos and a map. The event has well chosen locations set on Faversham Creek (Town Quay, Standard Quay and Front Brents), with events including music, fancy dress, food and more.
The inspiration for the design is a pirate treasure map, combining old style illustrations, a compass, scroll type panels and a Faversham Pirate Festival logo. The logo was designed by Jason Cox, who is also based in Creek Creative, Faversham, Kent.
I used Adobe Illustrator for drawing most of the map elements, and Adobe In-Design for laying out the design. I had in mind that the logo should be created by a contact who creates amazing illustrations both digitally and on canvas or paper – Jason Cox I have added his website address at the bottom of the post..
The leaflet has a print run of 2,500. Leaflets will be distributed around the town, at community events and at the event. This will be a great day for locals and visitors alike, with loads happening.
