It’s a dogs life: Photoshop edits

March 2023: Photoshop image of pet dog for client.

The first photo is the final edited image – which was supplied to the client as a large canvas print. The photo below the top one is the original image as taken at a friends wedding last year. The request was to Photoshop out details around their pet dog, Jess. Ultimately they wanted the final (edited) image to be of Jess the dog, with other details removed. This was quite intensive as there was plenty of detail that needed to be taken out, or disguised.

The request was to supply the client with a metre wide print out, on canvas! The main part of the job was to make sure the image was good enough in quality. So I went back to my original Camera RAW files in order to resize and output the image as large as possible without losing sharpness.

The image above is a progress shot, with some of the detail taken away (around half done). I was happy with it thus far. It got trickier working on the later part of the edits.

The client took delivery of the packaged up printed canvas print yesterday, and sent me the message below:

Ohhhhhhhh Simon! When I opened up the package I welled up
